JEWELLERY WORKSHOP
 

JSS Mahavidyapeetha has now added a Diploma and Short Term Course in JEWELLERY DESIGN AND TECHNOLOGY with the support of WORLD GOLD COUNCIL, an international non-profit making organization involved in Jewellery Production Technology promotional activities. This is the first Polytechnic in India to offer a Diploma in Jewellery Design and Technology covering all areas of Jewellery Design and Manufacturing Techniques.

The JSS Polytechnic for the Physically Handicapped (JSSPPH) is located in Mysore City at S. J. College of Engineering Campus.

Diploma in Jewellery Design & Technology (JD & T)

Duration of Course 3 Years (6 Semesters)

ADMISSION CRITERIA
Pass in SSLC or 10th Std. or equivalent.


SHORT TERM COURSES (PROFESSIONAL TRAINING)

1.  Jewellery Making Technology   1 Year
2.  Stone Setting  1 Year
3.  Casting Technology 3 Year
4.  Refining & Assaying  1 1/2 Months
5.  Gemmology
     a. Gem stone identification 		3 Months
     b. Diamond grading  
3 Months

ADMISSION CRITERIA
Pass in SSLC (or) 10th Std.(or) its equivalent and for professional persons with experience at least V11 th Standard Educational qualification.

    a. Limited Hostel facility
    b. In-house training for students in major jewellery manufacturing industries
        after successful completion of the Diploma course to the extent possible.
    c. Assistance will be rendered to students for securing employment after     training to the extent possible.
    d. Assistance will be extended for providing scholarships to the eligible     students as per the rules of Government of Karnataka and Government of     India to the extent possible.
    e. Modern teching aids.
     f. Consultancy service like :
        1. Project planning and setting up of industrial units
        2. Identification of machines, tolls and equipments
        3. Design and product development
