The
Department of Architecture was established in the year 1992
offering 3 years Diploma with an intake of 30 students.
The objective of the Department is to train the students in
skill development in architectural drafting, so as to assist
practicing Architects, Consultants, and in the Construction
industries. In addition to this, the student also undergo
training in scaled down building model making, costing and
estimating the building and basic knowledge of Civil Engineering.
CADD
as a latest drawing tool, has been introduced as a part of
the new curriculum. To train the students in CADD, the Department
is equipped with modern computer systems with latest CAD packages.
The various laboratories of the Department include well equipped
Computer Center, architectural drawing studio and photography
lab.
The
students of the department will be learning the various achitectural
subjects including surveying and leveling, structural drawings,
town planning, CAD, etc.
The Architecture Diploma holders will be placed in Architect
firms, with the Civil Engineering Consultants, Central / State
housing and Town Planning Departments, in Govt. Departments
etc. Students are also able to work independently as consultants
after gaining sufficient field experience.
Provision is there for the successful students of Architecture
Diploma to go for higher education in the field of architecture
such as B. Arch., IIA, MCA, etc.
